Our office manager and FM coordinator Tracey Carse is preparing to take on a gruelling ultra-challenge for charity.

On Saturday 09 July, Tracey will be joining around 2,000 walkers to hike an impressive 50km route in the beautiful Peak District National Park, covering Derbyshire’s finest scenery with some wonderful views of the rugged countryside.

Tracey is taking on the Peak District Ultra Challenge to raise funds for Ollie’s Army, which aims to raise awareness of Batten disease and to one day find a cure for this rare disease.

Discussing the trek, Tracey said: “I’m excited and a bit nervous to be taking on the Peak District Ultra Challenge, but I know the pain will be worth it when I reach the finish line, having helped to raise funds for a worthy cause.

“50km is a lot of distance to cover in a single hike but I’m confident with the right training and a positive approach that I can finish the challenge in under 12 hours. I’m looking forward to seeing some beautiful scenery in the Peaks including passing the historic Chatsworth House- and I’m hoping the views will keep me motivated to reach the finish line. I’ll definitely be looking forward to putting my feet up and enjoying a glass of something fizzy at the end!”
