The directors are delighted to present their strategic report for the year ended 31 March 2022.

Business Review

Aaron Rail Limited provides rail and civil engineering solutions to the rail sector throughout the UK, from planning through to full installation services. The company has Framework agreements with leading national rail infrastructure providers & specialist rail companies via which we support delivery of regulatory Control Period 6 (CP6).

Financial highlights for the Rail sector:

• Network Rail £9 Billion budget for enhancements to rail network during CP6.
• Additional £1 Billion government investment in digital signalling announced 2022.
• Total rail sector expenditure in 2020-21 was £21.0 Billion, an increase of 3.8% over 2019-20.

Aaron Rail continually invests in personnel, technology, and equipment in line with our ambition to grow whilst delivering maximum efficiency and support to our clients. At September 2022 the company had 125 employees and continues to recruit in all service areas.

Turnover for the year to 31 March 2022 increased by 45% over 2021, with further growth forecast in the current financial year.

Within this, the company’s security division Aaron Guard (see below) grew by 23% over 2021, with a further 67% growth being achieved in the current year.

We recently invested more than £600K in a new fleet of 35 vehicles for project teams, demonstrating Aaron Rail’s commitment to providing its workforce with high quality equipment & facilities.

Business & Operating Structure

Aaron Rail Limited is a leading member of Aaron Engineering Group Limited, a multi-disciplined group of companies providing expert services, resource & solutions to the Rail, Property & HV electrical sectors in the UK. Aaron Rail has two main trading divisions:

Rail Operations – PC Support, Track Maintenance, Contingent Labour, Minor Civils, Drainage / Surveys.

Aaron Guard – market leading provider of manned-guarding solutions specifically for the rail sector.

Aaron Rail works closely with its sister companies Aaron Access Limited and Aaron HV Systems Limited to offer a range of expertise beyond traditional rail services.
