With a focus on sustainable and impactful projects, we are expanding our EHV/HV team and seeking a talented Senior Project Manager with expertise in Extra high-voltage (EHV) cabling to lead and drive the success of our talented team on large scale project work.

 

Job Description-

As an installation engineer with EHV and HV cabling experience, you will be a critical part of the team across the full project lifecycle of our high-voltage cabling project in Snowdonia. This role requires a seasoned professional who can effectively work as part of cross-functional teams ensuring the successful execution of projects. The role will suit someone with a proven track record of working in complex EHV cabling projects and who is passionate about shaping the future of the energy industry,


Key Responsibilities:

In this role, you will be instrumental in ensuring successful and timely completion of projects within scope and to required safety standards. You’ll have the opportunity to apply your electrical engineering knowledge to deliver reliable and efficient solutions that exceed client expectations and uphold their reputation for excellence.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, or a related field. Advanced degree is a plus.
  • Proven experience as an EHV Installation Engineer with a focus on high-voltage cabling projects, with a minimum of 20 years of successful project delivery.
  • In-depth knowledge of high-voltage cabling design, installation, and testing processes.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to work effectively in project teams.
  • Familiarity with relevant industry standards, regulations, and best practices.


Experience :

  • Experience of working under NEC 4 contracts (Essential)
  • Experience of working on National Grid (Essential)
  • Experience of working with 400kv and above (Essential)
  • Extensive experience of working in a high hazard industry or major infrastructure projects (Essential).
  • Experience of working on major EHV and HV Cabling projects
  • A recognised professional Health & Safety qualification (e.g NEBOSH, IOSH)
  • Experience in project delivery including a detailed understanding of contract methodologies and the management of commercial risk.
  • Knowledge and understanding of regulatory requirements and legislation including procurement, environment, and health & safety.
  • Familiar with National Grid rules & regulations.
  • Have an appreciation of deep shaft and tunnel working environments.
  • Have an appreciation of heavy lifting and large cable pulling activities.
  • Ability to be part of a collaborative teams and act as a role-model for the site standards, expectations, and behaviours.
  • Experience of working closely with supply chain partners, and managing wider stakeholders (e.g. Landowners, Local Authorities, the Environment Agency, etc)

  • Ability to meet targets in a commercial environment.
  • A proven understanding of safety and quality management
  • The ability to engage at a specific and detailed level with key tasks, evidenced by those tasks being executed in a highly efficient manner.
  • Personal integrity, resilience and the robustness needed to operate in a fast changing highly commercial contracting environment.
  • Expertise in high voltage electrical systems
  • Proficiency in electrical design software
  • Strong problem-solving skills with attention to detail, excellent communication and a desire to collaborate
